Mr Yang: Sorry, I didn’t see your message yesterday. We have a five-hour time difference (smile). How can we assist you? Is it with the children’s English learning?

Parent 21: Hello, Mr. Yang! I heard from Zhizhi’s mom that you are great at teaching English, so I’d like to ask if you could tutor my two children on the weekend. Sunday morning—do you have any time Yang available?

Mr Yang: Hello! Could you please tell Mr Yang the ages of the children and their current level of English? On Sunday, I only have time Yang available after 10:45 AM.

Parent 21: Sure, one is in 7th grade and the other is in 10th grade. Their grades are average.

Mr Yang: Understood. I’m currently working on addressing that issue. At this learning stage, it’s actually a good thing. He has his own interests, and when we discuss topics related to his interests, his expressions become Yang very engaging. For instance, during reading comprehension, we sometimes talk about biology, refugees, melatonin, etc. I encourage him to view English learning as accumulating knowledge, which makes it more interesting. He is gradually moving in that direction.

Parent 21: Correct guidance has benefited him a lot, so as a parent, I can only try to let him learn from good teachers and be influenced by the environment and classmates. Thank you, Mr. Yang! You are the best teacher! Fang Ning also likes you a lot!

Mr Yang: Noted. Writing and speaking are the ultimate ways to see a learner’s language output ability. Writing is crucial for exams abroad, university papers, and future graduate studies.

Mr Yang: Their responses are quite prompt. I haven’t had any delays or clarity issues, and I haven’t tried using headphones yet; I’m using the computer’s microphone directly. Sister Xiaoyan also thinks it's quite good.

Introduced from Russia to the New York Washington Square Press in the US, the original book English Through Pictures is a valuable resource for mastering basic English. The book is progressive and richly illustrated, explaining each commonly used vocabulary and concept in the simplest way. To gain a solid foundation in English, read and digest pages 1-287 carefully and memorize all content from these pages to accelerate your learning.
