WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO ENTER OUR 2022 FUJIFILM INSTAX 

COVER STAR COMPETITION?

“I am obsessed with It GiRL and only decided to enter the competition 

for fun’s sake and for the awesome camera! This year was the second 

time I’ve entered. Never in a million years did I think I’d win.”

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE MOMENT WHEN YOU FOUND OUT 

YOU WERE OUR WINNER?

“Every day I would check YouTube for Roxy’s announcement! It was a 

Thursday afternoon when I found out. I came home from school and 

watched the announcement! I was so stoked! I was full of energy and so 

grateful to have such an awesome opportunity. I almost cried happy 

tears!”

DID YOU DO ANYTHING TO CELEBRATE AFTER YOU FOUND OUT 

YOU HAD WON?

“Yes! My family and I celebrated by going out to my favourite Japanese 

restaurant. I had my usual meal, which is dumplings, edamame and of 

course, steamed rice!”

HOW LONG DID YOU WORK ON YOUR ENTRY?

“It took about two whole days in total – the first day was coming up with 

a draft, and the second was making sure everything was perfect! I used 

a super handy design app to help me, Canva!”

HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ENJOYING YOUR FUJIFILM INSTAX CAMERA?

“I love my Fujifilm mini 11 instax Camera! I think it is a very cool retro 

style of camera, and I enjoy taking creative pictures of nature and my 

surroundings! I take my camera EVERYWHERE, you never want to miss 

a moment!”

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE CAMERA?

“I absolutely love how you can change the film border to an aesthetic 

pattern! The different border colours of the film adds a little bit of pop to 

the picture. My favourite design is Pink Lemonade. It’s a super cute 

addition!”

CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF...

“My name is Ella and I was born in Melbourne, but currently living in 

Perth. I used to live in Seattle, USA for four years! I really enjoy anything 

creative – writing, designing, music, drawing, sewing, and of course, 

crafts. I am a MASSIVE fan of experimental baking with my friend, Meg! 

I am obsessed with It GiRL, and read it with my It GiRL friends: Tessa, 

Sophie, Indi, and Stella! I am a total girly-girl, as I love shopping, accessories, 

hanging out, and always look at the beauty section at all stores! I have 

a pet bunny, Charlie, who I personally think is the cutest thing ever!”

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR BEST QUALITIES?

“I think some of my best qualities would be I'm easy – going, creative, 

caring, and a total daredevil! I am also confident, but mostly only when 

I’m acting!”

OKAY, NOW LET’S HEAR ABOUT ONE OF YOUR BAD HABITS!

“I have a bad habit of being very messy, especially in my room! I really 

try to be more organised, but I’ve realised that I was born that way, and 

that’s just who I am!”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT SCHOOL AND WHAT 

GRADE ARE YOU IN?

“I am in year six. I love my school, and my favourite thing about it is my 

music lessons! Everything I attend – choir, orchestra, cello, piano, and 

just my normal music lessons – are so much fun! We also have the most 

awesome music teacher EVER!”

WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO?“Both my parents. My dad because he is very creative and smart, and my 

mum because she is really kind, creative and full of life!”

YOU’RE VERY MUSICALLY TALENTED AND PLAY BOTH THE PIANO 

AND CELLO – HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING FOR?

“I love playing piano and cello, I don’t know where I’d be without them! 

I’ve been playing the cello for almost three years and I perform about 

three times a year, and piano for almost four years and I perform once a 

year!”

AS WELL AS MUSIC YOU ALSO TAKE DRAMA CLASSES! CAN YOU 

TELL US ABOUT THAT?

“Drama classes are the best! I do them every Thursday with a very good 

friend of mine, Indi. We love acting and are both really inspired by 

professional actors. I have performed on stage many times before, from 

Kindergarten to now! Indi and I recently both played in High School 

Musical on stage, where she was Ryan and I was Sharpay!”

YOU’RE MUSICAL, THEATRICAL AND WE HEARD YOU’RE ALSO A 

TALENTED WRITER... TELL US MORE!

“Did I mention I love being creative? Yes, I love writing stories, but I

wouldn’t call myself talented! I mostly write suspense narrative stories, 

in first person. I love descriptive words and have posted some of my 

stories when I was younger on an internet writing platform – but looking 

back at those, I have gotten a lot better since then!”

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO BE WHEN YOU’RE OLDER?

“This is what I picture in my head: Me, in Los Angeles, being a famous 

world wide actress! I really hope to have the opportunity to perform on 

camera, and not just on stage!”

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?

“I love drawing my own little characters in my spare time. It really helps 

me relax and grow my mind. I also LOVE YouTube, and hanging out with 

my friends!”

WHAT DO YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS LIKE TO DO TOGETHER?

“We love to do crazy stuff – Truth or Dare, watch a movie, make hilarious 

music videos, and go shopping! I also play netball with a few of them.”

CAN YOU TELL US A RANDOM FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?“I skipped most of year two due to travelling from America to Australia 

– the age for school is different here compared to there!”

DID YOU HAVE FUN AT YOUR COVER SHOOT?

“It was SO much fun! Everybody on the It GiRL team were SUPER 

welcoming and friendly. It was a lot of fun to pose with the adorable 

candy props!”

DID ANYTHING SURPRISE YOU ABOUT THE SHOOT OR WAS IT 

EVERYTHING YOU THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE?

“I’ve never seen the making of a photo shoot before, so it was such a 

surprise to see how it was all set up! I was also so surprised at how many 

photos you had to take to get the perfect shot! It was actually hard work!”

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT THE SHOOT?

“My favourite part about the shoot would probably be… ALL OF IT! I was 

so happy the whole time! I loved meeting the whole team and Roxy was 

really friendly!”

DID YOU ENJOY YOUR TIME IN SYDNEY? WHAT DID YOU GET UP TO 

WHILE YOU WERE HERE?

“Sydney is the best! I love the cute little markets and shops scattered 

around the city. My family and I were lucky enough to see the Sydney 

Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House!”

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING 

ENTERING OUR NEXT COVER STAR COMPETITION?

“My advice is to always “risk it for the biscuit” – you never know if you 

could win! I entered twice and ended up achieving my dream. Always 

give things a go!”
